About The Shed

The Shed opened in February 2007 and is currently used 4 days per week for woodworking and metalworking with all types of machines to enable manufacture of toys, turned bowls and to repair chairs and tables. The shed makes possum boxes, microbat roost boxes and any other project that comes to mind! Some members are also in the process of developing components for landmine victims' wheelchairs.

A Men's Shed provides a place for men, also for women and youths, to come together in a workshop "hands on" environment, to work on their own projects, learn new skills and enjoy mate ship. Many of the older men have the opportunity to become mentors to younger people. An opportunity exists for both old and young to be involved in community projects.

It is a 6 day week facility available for other organisations to use for their progams also.

For more information, contact Peter on (02) 4369 7222, or better still come and see us.

The community recognised the need for a men's shed and Kincumber Uniting Church responded by providing the land on which the men's shed has been built. Funding for the building has been provided by UnitingCare Ageing, Local people and the State Government.

Sponsorship of the Shed has come from Federal and Local Government, Clubs and Bendigo Bank, local businesses and generous individuals. Donations of tools and equipment also allow the Shed to support and be part of the local community.

The most important thing is not necessarily
having a shed but -
what goes on in the shed
